Bills @ Falcons
The Buffalo Bills are trying to bounce back from a 23-20 upset loss to the Patriots. That loss ended their unbeaten run and was the first game this season that Josh Allen and co. didn’t break the 30 point threshold. The Falcons got a big win 34-27 last week against the Commanders, without Jayden Daniels, that they desperately needed after getting shutout by the Panthers 30-0 the previous week. The Falcons defense has been elite against the pass limiting opposing QB’s to just 135 yards passing per contest and 57.7% completion leading the league in both. Star CB AJ Terrell could also return for this game after missing the last 2 games with a hamstring injury. The Bills offense has been unstoppable at times this season ranking in the top 5 in total yards, yards per play, rush yards and yards per completion. With 2 TD passes last week Josh Allen now has 68 career games with multiple TD throws, breaking the franchise record set by Hall of Famer Jim Kelly. The Falcons offense has been run heavy so far this year with nearly 32 rushing attempts per game led by stud RB Bijan Robinson and he will face a defense which has struggled against the run so far this season surrendering 5.6 yards per rush. The Falcons have allowed just 5 sacks this season, second fewest in the NFL behind only the Colts. This won’t be an easy matchup for the Bills, but I can’t go against Josh Allen especially since they’re 10-2 when playing a road game following a loss. So I like the Bills to cover as 3 point favorites on the road. However, I do like Bijan Robinson to get over 110.5 rushing and receiving yards as he has gotten over that line in every game so far this year.
Best Bet: Bills -3.5 (-110)
Player Props: Bijan Robinson Over 110.5 Rush & Rec Yds (-115)
Bears @ Commanders
The Chicago Bears return to the place where their 2024 season began to unravel when they visit the Washington Commanders on Monday night. Jayden Daniels threw a Hail Mary on the final play that was caught by Noah Brown for the game-winning TD in one of the season’s best games. Chicago, which had won 3 straight went on to lose 10 games in a row and finished 5-12, while the Commanders secured the wild-card spot and went on to the NFC title game. Jayden Daniels, who missed the Commanders last 2 contests with a left knee injury is set to return in this game and will face a Bear’s defense which is giving up 379.5 yards per game and 29.3 points per game, ranking bottom 6 in the league in both categories. The Commanders WR core is banged up as they will be without Terry McLaurin for a 3rd straight game and Noah Brown for a 4th straight game and could be without Deebo Samuel who is listed as questionable. Even with all their injuries this year the Commanders have still been strong on offense and a big part has been due to rookie RB Jacory Croskey-Merrit who has emerged as the leading back in an offense that averages 5.9 yards per rush leading the league. They will face a porous Bears run defense that ranks dead last in the league allowing 6.1 yards per rush. The Bears defense has also been struggling to keep opponents out of the end zone giving up an average of 29.2 points per game. I like the Commanders offense against a weak Bears defense, but I also think the Bears can score their share of points so I’ll take the Commanders to cover the 4.5 point spread and for the total of 49 to go over. I also like RB Jacory Croskey Merritt to get over 69.5 rushing yards as he has had 80+ rushing yards when Jayden Daniels starts and the Bears have allowed heaps of yards to opposing running backs.
